OTA Insight

Gino Engels co-founded OTA Insight in 2012. The company has since grown from a small disrupter challenging an established marketplace, to a business supporting over 45,000 hotels and accommodation providers in 168 countries.

As Chief Commercial Officer, Gino is working with the hospitality industry’s most progressive innovators as well as established global and local players to deliver a suite of industry-leading technology solutions. He leads the delivery and continued development of OTA Insight’s product portfolio driven by the company’s mission to help the hospitality industry visualize and leverage its data.

Gino’s objective is to bring affordable revenue tools to market which enable hotels and accommodation providers around the world to implement a profitable revenue and distribution strategy.

Gino regularly contributes his expert knowledge on the hospitality sector to articles and publications on current trending topics and also frequently speaks at industry events in the US, APAC and across Europe.

He was recently awarded the HSMAI TOP 25 Americas Extraordinary Minds in 2018 and HSMAI Europe Top 20 Extraordinary Minds in 2017. The awards recognize leaders in sales, marketing, and revenue optimization of hospitality, travel, and tourism organizations for their accomplishments in the preceding 18 months.

OTA Insight now operates from offices in London, Ghent, Dallas, New York, Singapore, Sydney, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo and in 2017, after 5 years of explosive growth the firm decided to escalate their commitment in helping hoteliers wrangle and act on data to make better business decisions by raising a $20M growth equity round led by Eight Roads, the venture arm of financial behemoth Fidelity Investments.

In 2018 OTA Insight was honoured as one of The Sunday Times Tech Fast Track companies as one of Britain’s fastest-growing private technology companies.

Before co-founding OTA Insight, Gino had a successful career with roles at some of the world’s largest corporations. These include Sony Pictures Entertainment and AB InBev, where he worked with leading global retailers to develop profitable retail strategies.
